Nimir Resins Ltd  

Nimir Resins is a speciality chemicals manufacturing company, producing Alkyd Resins and water based binders for enamel and emulsion paint industry. The Company also produces Textile processing chemicals and products for paper industry.  

In 2004, as a result of a strategic move, Nimir Resins was acquired by Descon and was brought under the umbrella of Descon’s Chemical Business.  

Merger of Descon Chemicals into Nimir Resins Ltd  

Pursuant to the orders of the Lahore High Court, DESCON CHEMICALS (PVT) LTD has been merged into Nimir Resins Limited by the transfer to and vesting in Nimir Resins Limited of the entire undertaking of DESCON CHEMICALS (PVT) LTD  with effect from 01 March, 2010.  

As envisaged in the merger plan, SECP has renamed Nimir Resins Limited as DESCON CHEMICALS LTD effective 01 April, 2010.  

Synergistic benefit of the Merger  

The merger has created an entity which is much stronger than the respective companies on their own. It has the potential to greatly enhance the returns to the shareholders with its diversified portfolio and accrue substantially enhanced benefits for its customers, suppliers and employees.   

As was the case with the merging entities the merged business will also be a responsible Corporate Citizen and will continue to create wealth and contribute to the exchequer in the form of taxes while recognizing its responsibility to the environment and the community that it operates in.
